It is providing round the clock emergency care to patients suffering from all types of neurological problems: including stroke, CNS infections and GB Syndrome, etc..The department also conducts clinics for movement disorders(including botox therapy).The department has a fully functional electrophysiology unit to compliment the neurological services.
The focus areas include :
Stroke :- Vimhans has a dedicated team for management of stroke on an emergency basis round the clock and advocate thrombolytic therapy if patient reaches within 1-2 hrs of onset of stroke. The centre is equipped with latest generation scanners as well as angiography .
Epilepsy :- The hospital provides all facilities ( in OPD and in Emergency) for care and management of epilepsy patients. Camps for public awareness and consultation as well as public interest seminars are also held on regular basis.
Movement Disorder and Parkinson clinic :- This includes any condition causing involuntary movements and stiffness of body muscles. The patients are assessed in Parkinson's clinic and selected cases are adviced surgery for the same. The hospital is equipped to diagnose and provide appropriate treatment including administration of Botulinium toxin.
Behavioural Neurology :- A clinic combining the services of a neurologist, psychiatrist and psychologist as a team caters to those with a combination of neurological and psychiatric symptoms.
Pediatric Neurology and Child Development :- Is focused on neurological issues of children including developmental problems.

Clinical Electroencephalography Lab :- The department has state of art EEG Lab with 21 channel EEG monitoring.
Nerve conduction and EMG LAB :- The lab is well equipped with latest EMG machines. The facilities offered are nerve condition EMG studies, facial nerve conduction ,blink reflexes and repetitive stimulation test.
