GERIATRIC HOME CARE WORKERS(G.C.W)    

                                              
India has a growing population of the eiderly and infirm. Physical and mental disabilities are common with this population making them wholly or partially dependent on caregivers –most often immediate family.
To augment these support services and in an effort to keep the cost of managing such individual affordable , VIMHANS has been running a course to train care workers for the Geriatric clients.

GERIATRIC HOME CARE WORKER TRAINING PROGRAMME

This is a one  year training programe .the minimum qualification for which is matriculation . currently we have the 15th trainee batch running.G.C workers are trained in the theoretical as well as practical aspects of looking after  the eiderly and includes the basic knowledge of medical and nursing care including dietetics . These care givers provide much needed attention in the familiar surroundings at the patients own home. 12-24 hrs shift duties can be arranged . For the duration of stay of the care worker with the patient bed and board are responsibilities of the household that employs them.
We also help with physical  aides for the elderly and disabled like:
Wheelchair, Air mattreses, Special beds, Wheelchair with pot,Walking sticks of different  kinds.

This can be customized for individual needs.
