Parent Counselling for Parents of Special needs Children

Workshop goal: To equip psychology students and early career professionals with empathetic & effective counseling skills to support parents raising children with special needs.

Workshop objectives:

1.       Developing a comprehensive understanding of what defines a ‘special needs’ condition.

2.       Looking into the emotional and psychological challenges commonly faced by parents of children with special needs.

3.       Building a repertoire of counseling techniques and skills for parent support.

4.       Enhancing communication & empathy as a mental health practitioner.

5.       Learning to identify signs of crisis in parents and it’s management.

6.       Preventing burnout & fostering  counselor self-care .
